Subhyaloid haemorrhage secondary

to diabetic retinopathy

This 61 year-old man has a history of longstanding diabetes mellitus presents with left blurring of vision. He also suffers from hypertension, congestive heart failure and chronic renal failure. He has had panretinal photocoagulation done for both eyes. Fundscopy shows bilateral proliferative diabetic retinopathy and left macular subhyaloid haemorrhage.

 

Right optic disc new vessels and pan-photocoagulation. The retina shows small subhyaloid haemorrhage.

 

Subhyaloid haemorrhage of the right inferior retina.

 

A large left macular subhyaloid haemorrhage.

 

Pre-retinal haemorrhage of the left superior retina with new vessels elsewhere.
