This middle-aged man was
referred by the neurosurgeon because of complaints of seeing dark patches in
. He was recently
treated for subarachnoid haemorrhage and an operation was carried out to
clip a leaking aneurysm. The posterior segment shows areas of pre-retinal
haemorrhages arising from the optic nerve head. The history and the fundal
appearance were diagnostic of Terson's syndrome.
The haziness of the fundal view is caused
by vitreous haemorrhage.
