This 4 year-old boy was referred for suspected esotropia. However, by pinching the skin in the medial canthi the eyes can be seen to be straight with normal corneal reflexes. Epicanthal folds may give the false impression of esotropia.

Pseudo-strabimus.

Pinching of the skin revealed the hidden eye white and the corneal reflexes

were central in both eyes.
