Peri-orbital abscess

This 9 year-old girl with learning difficulty presented with a one-week history of progressive swollen right eye and pyrexia.  Examination revealed a tense orbit and a pointing abscess in the medial lower lid. She was started on systemic antibiotic and incision and drainage was performed to drain the abscess. The patient recovered without complications.
