Ophthalmic and
maxillary herpes zoster

This 23 year-old woman
developed a painful rash in her left upper face. The rash was typical of
herpes zoster and involves the ophthalmic and maxillary branches of the left
trigeminal nerve. Medical examination and blood investigation did not review
any underlying immunosuppressive conditions. She responded well to systemic
acyclovir.
Facial appearance three weeks after
the initial eruption.
