A 70 year-old Chinese
suffers from bilateral pseudoexfoliation syndrome with open angle glaucoma.
The right intraocular pressure was poorly controlled with medications and
she underwent trabeculectomy. However, the bleb failed to function and the
intraocular pressure remained high with progressive loss of visual field. A
second operation was performed with Ahmed valve which succeeded in
maintaining the intraocular pressure below 15mmHg. The left intraocular
pressure was controlled with latanoprost and β-blocker.
Right Ahmed valve. Also iridectomy
from previous failed trabeculectomy.
