Limbal stem cell

This 48 year-old woman
is the sister of the previous case. She also has cleft palate and recurrent
red eyes. Examination revealed superior limbal stem cell deficiency in the
superior cornea. The cornea shows neovascularization and calcification. She
is on long term low dose steroid to reduce the progression of the
neovascularization. Autologous stem stem cell graft from the inferior cornea
with amniotic membrane cover is planned to reverse the corneal changes.
