This
patient with corneal vascularization as a
result of congenital stem cell deficiency was given bandage contact lens
to keep the eye comfortable. She was given topical chloramphenicol qds
and betamethasone bd to prevent infection and to reduce inflammation.
She failed to return for clinic visits for two months. When seen again,
the contact lens was found to be cloudy as a result of stainings from
preservatives. A new contact lens was given.
