Contact lens trauma
Chung Nen
This
young man who was a contact lens wearer
complained of pain in his left eye. Examination revealed a whitish
lesion with surrounding inflamed conjunctiva in the nasal bulbar
conjunctiva. The whitish lesion could be peeled off with a paired of
forceps. The inflammation subsided with g. garasone (betamethasone +
gentamicin) qds and avoidance of contact lens after 4 days. The
lesion appeared to be the result of rubbing of the contact lens against
the conjunctiva as a result of poor contact lens fitting.
A whitish lesion over the left
nasal conjunctiva.
The whitish lesion could be
peeled off with a pair of forceps and represented necrotic
tissue.
