Firecracker injury

This 16 year-old sustained firecracker
injury during Hari Raya celebration. The blunt force of the firecracker
caused superior eyelid laceration, iridodialysis, hyphaema, traumatic
cataract and vitreous haemorrhage. The intraocular pressure was normal.
The eyelid was sutured and the eye was treated with cycloplentalate 1%
tds, topical steroid (betamethasone drop qds) and topical antibiotic (chloramphenicol
qds).
Eyelid laceration,
iridodialysis, traumatic cataract and hyphaema.
