Corneoscleral
laceration
A 27 year-old gardener
sustained a left ocular injury after being hit by an unidentifying object
that appeared to arise from the ground while he was cutting grass with an
electric rotor. His vision was reduced to counting finger at 6 meters.
Slit-lamp examination showed a linear medial corneal laceration with iris
prolapse. The laceration extended into the nasal region with uveal tissue
exposure. However, no vitreous prolapse was demonstrated at the wound. The
lens was intact. The B-scans and plain X-rays did not show any intraocular
foreign bodies. He underwent an uncomplicated primary reply. Antibiotic
prophylaxis included intracameral cefuroxime and oral ciprofloxacin.

thickness medial corneal laceration.

limbus with uveal tissue exposure.
