This man presented with a
gradual onset loss of his right vision. He gave a history of recurrent eye
infection of unknown cause. The vision was hand movement and there was a
loss of corneal sensation.
The most likely diagnosis
is lipid keratopathy from corneal neovascularization secondary to recurrent
herpetic disciform keratitis. He was started on topical steroid and
acyclovir to reduce the corneal inflammation and to decrease the corneal
neovascularization. Once the inflammation settles, he may required partial
keratectomy with amniotic membrane graft to improve his vision.
