Capsulorrhexis is one of the most challenging technique to master in phacoemulsification. To imporve one's skill some trainees in UNIMAS use tomatoes to practice the technique.

Take one lightly boiled tomato. Size and colour unimportant.

Place it gently on the head rest under the direct illumination of microscopy.

Peform 100 capsulorrhexis on the tomato skin using a needle with a bent tip or cystotome.

Now you have a perfectly craved art work!
