Corneal neovascularization

This patient complained of discomfort in his right eye. Examination revealed peripheral corneal neovascularization with lipid keratopathy. There was no previous history of note. He was started on topical betamethasone qds with acyclovir cream 5X cover for suspected herpetic simplex keratitis. The vascularization resolved after one week and the steroid and acyclovir were stopped after three weeks.
