Traumatic Descemet's
membrane breaks

This patient was
referred because of decreased left vision. The right eye had had
phacoemulsification and implant 1 year ago in a private centre. The
vision measured 6/12 RE unaided and 6/36 LE. The pupil dilatation in
both eyes was poor. Slit-lamp examination showed iris atrophy from
previous surgery and Descemet's membrane breaks were observed in the
right eye. The IOP was normal. The breaks were most likely to occur as a
result of a complicated cataract surgery.
