A 65
year-old woman underwent an uncomplicated right phacoemulsification and
implant. However, three months later she complained of progressive blurring
of the left vision. Slit-lamp examination revealed the presence of posterior
capsular opacity and a foreign body-liked lesion. There were no opacities
elsewhere in the capsule to suggest chronic infection. A YAG capsulotomy was
performed and the lesion dispersed itself. We believe this lesion might be
due to retained viscoelastic.
