Cyanoacrylate glue

This 54 year-old man developed left central corneal perforation secondary to herpetic eye disease. Cyanoacrylate glue was applied to seal the wound and a contact lens was inserted.

Right central corneal perforation sealed with cyanoacrylate glue. The glue has a bluish colour.

A contact lens was inserted to prevent the eyelid from dislodging the seal and provide ocular

comfort.

Close-up view of the seal. Corneal epithelium could not grow over the rough surface and

therefore heap up around the seal.
