Corneal melt with
descemetocele

This 22 year-old
complained of decreased right vision. The visual acuity was light
perception. Examination revealed corneal melt with bulging iris covered by
descemete membrane (descemetocele). The cause of the corneal melt was
unknown and the patient was otherwise well. A penetrating keratoplasty was
performed which unfortunately became vascularized.
