Right phthisical eye with aphakia

and total retinal detachment

This 26 year-old woman has right enophthalmos and hypertropia. She sustained a right eye injury 10 years ago which required surgery. The vision was no light perception. Slit-lamp examination showed the right eye to be smaller than the left with aphakia and total retinal detachment. The eye was soft and the intraocular pressure could not be recorded with Goldman tonometer.

Right eye is smaller than the left with enophthalmos and hypertropia.

Right aphakia with broad iridectomy and eccentric pupil.

Slit-lamp view of the retinal detachment. The retina appeared white indicating

that the detachment was long-standing.
