A 54 year-old ex-service
man was assaulted 10 years ago and had his left eye enucleated. He was
unhappy with his appearance. Examination showed poor surgical results with
skin contracture and poor fitting of the prosthesis. Reconstruction was
planned with release of the scars, skin graft and insertion of an acrylic
ball.
Poor cosmesis from the initial
surgical treatment.
Poor wound alignment, wound
contraction and absent of an implant.
