Subtarsal
conjunctival cyst
A 6 year-old girl was noted by her parents to
develop a left upper eyelid of 6-month duration. The lesion was painless and
on lifting the upper eyelid, there was a translucent cyst arising from the
subtarsal conjunctival cyst. CT scans showed no evidence of retro-orbital or
cranial extension. The cyst was opened and marsupialized
(conversion of a closed cavity into an
open pouch, by incising it and suturing the edges of its wall to the edges
of the wound) under general anaesthesia.

the left upper eyelid.
