Midface lift

This patient suffered from left ocular
expsoure as a result of facial palsy following excision of an acoustic
neuroma 10 years ago. Despite medial canthoplasty, she still had significant
conjunctival exposure mainly because of midface drooping. A transcutaneous
midface lift was performed to elevate the SOOF (suborbicularis oculi fat).
Post-operatively, she was able to close her left eye better and there was an
improvement of the midface asymmetry.
Left lower facial nerve palsy with
conjunctival exposure.
