This 38 year-old woman
underwent laser resurfacing in a private hospital to remove the xanthelasma.
Unfortunately, the procedure was unsuccessful and she developed areas of
depigmentation. Serial excision was performed to excised the depigmented
area and the xanthelasma.
Laser resurfacing is unsuitable for pigmented
patients as depigmentation may be a complication.
